Dance like no one is watching!

Redbank Plains SS panthers rocked last Friday afternoon as two massive dance parties culminated our ‘Dance Like No one is Watching’ Artist in Residence program.

The QPAC dancers had led ‘Dance Intensive’ workshops last week for each and every class in our school, developing routines that were showcased on Friday afternoon. Our hall dazzled under brilliant disco lights as our dancers led the routines, with staff and community members not needing much convincing to join in the fun!

Last term, our Year 3 cohort engaged intensively with the QPAC dancers over several weeks before performing at a mass Dance Party as part of Brisbane’s annual Out of the Box festival.

The project funding has also enabled excellent professional development for our teachers, with a whole staff session and intensive Arts Australian Curriculum workshops for our Arts staff.

A huge thanks must go to the Qld Government and Arts Queensland for the grant funding and overall assistance to enable this incredibly worthwhile project.

Thanks also to the QPAC and Out of the Box teams, who have been amazing!

Dancers, executives, publicists, administrative and coordinating staff have worked tirelessly with RPSS to ensure everyone had the toolkit and resources to Dance Like No one was Watching- we certainly uncovered some talented dancing Panthers at our school!

Thanks again to all involved from each and every one of us at Redbank Plains State School.
